Ah yes the penchant for a deity to dish out trials out of nowhere for shits and giggles and just say “because it’s good for you” (or some variation of it) so the survivors would attribute their survival to said deity and continue to praise its name a la Stockholm Syndrome, clearly knowing it’s said deity that fucked them hard in the first place.
At this point i’m surprised North Korea isn’t at this level of fanatical worshipping but i guess it’s hard to do that while literally starving to death while making Kim’s umpteenth nuke, or cryptostealing, or scamming old people in America out of their pension funds.
