I almost cried.
This dude seems to think Demons and angels are exclusive to christianity lol. There is a fundemental issue with the idea that the demons/ devil can be good-natured, but slightly flawed characters, who can do tremendous good given a certain circumstance. And that heaven, angels and god would be hypocrits/ evil/ heavily flawed characters. The fundemental issue in this setup is that you don't actually do anything. You think you are subverting expectations and creating some moral dilemmas, but in reality you aren't. You are just lying to yourself and the readers. Those that whisper sweet lies and don't want you to be happy are the demons. Even if you, as an author, specifically go out of your way to portray and call them angels and god and all, in the story, they represent evil and are thus the demons. And the opposite is also true. The "demons" are the actual metaphors for the angels and god. They are the ones that give you the tough battles to fight and the tough burdens to carry. But if you manage to carry on and keep yur resolve, they are the ones that are the happiest for your success.
So I think what I am really trying to say is that the author and most readers of this trope, do not understand christianity and the bible. This isn't necesarily a bad thing, you can write, and enjoy stories even with flawed understanding of different topics.
Yes, mb. While writing that comment I was thinking a lot about other things as well, so I accidentally mixed in christianity, but generally speaking, the point of the big part still stands. Demons, and their equivalents, are in almost every culture harbringers of different issues. They will tempt you to do evil, offer you things in exchange for unknown, but terrible consequences or outright harm you. Oftentimes they will have counterparts that support, help or challange you to do better. If you invert the roles, but keep the names, you don't really change anything. And that is regardless of what religion or culture the material is based on. Of course, I am biased, since I grew up in a christian houshold, so I sometimes, seeing familiar terms, names, etc, forget that works can be based on other belief systems as well. Thus, I may have chosen the wrong work to leave this comment under. I didn't mean to come off as "waaaahhh this isn't real christianity", I just wanted to make an observation. This dude seems to think Demons and angels are exclusive to christianity lol.
Also, you can't consider christianity and the Ars Goetia or Key of Solomon to be compatible. They are mutually exclusive because in christianity you can't bind/bargain with/use demons which is what the Ars Goetia/Key of Solomon are about.
This manga isn't based on christian theology, its based on hermetic mysticism, so saying "waaaahhh this isn't real christianity" is silly. Of course its not. It's heresy at best.

Now, I don't actually know anything about hermetic mysticism, so I can't prove or disprove your claim that this was based on that system. Thus I can't really agree or disgaree with what you said, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on my actual point, which I got confused over while writing my previous comment.
Also, I don't mean to offend you with this or anything. I don't mean to attack you or anyone else. So if you take offense to what I wrote, I apologize. Have a nice rest of the day and have fun reading!
