With the whole “jealousy” thing, I wonder if that means the professor can recognize that the robots develop their own personality and wills outside of what’s been programmed for them? For example, even though they look identical, “our Gill” isn’t the same person as her ex, same as any other robot made in her image. Also, unless the professor and whoever else is working on this project are devoted to being as cruel as possible, why give the robots any sense of self and consciousness but no autonomy?? Unless of course they never intended them to have the ability to grow into their own people, but as soon as that’d be recognized why wouldnt they change their plans or scrap this project all together??
