I'm sure many people/cultures don't think Goth/Punk girls look good tatted up with piercings and vibrant hair despite it being very attractive to some people. In that sense, Ganguro/Manba has similar goals in trying to break from traditional ideas of beauty in the era they were conceived. It just never became relatively mainstream the way Goth/Punk did.
