Because being a victim doesnt give u the right to be a piece of shit. They were in on it and essentially bullying mc yet they played the victim card when they got caught. Instead of being bullied themselves they let another, in this case mc, take the hit instead to save themselves. Also, yea his thinking is a bit off but most people are when it comes to friends and family.
