Also yeah I see people malding about FMC and the reasons why their entire relationship would not be healthy or viable IRL. And I would agree but idc this is manga and it's purpose is to escape reality :)

All the comments shitting on this manga are stupid edge lords, Istg. Here's an honest opinion of someone who actually read everything:

This manga is a 10/10 for me, it is simply amazing. The characters personality are well done and deep, the conversations flow smoothly and make sense, their personalities are displayed really well through the dialogue. The main characters depression is done well, her thought patterns are extreme but not uncommon. Some people dont get out of bullying simply by beating up and putting everyone in a hospital, unlike how some people here think. The ML (Iruma) doesn't suddenly become thin/buff/handsome like some people want to make up in their head, he stays the same throughout his life. It was never about his weight, only what other people judged because of it, just like the comments are doing.

Iruma's personality is displayed well, he isn't perfect, but hes lovable. And as you read, you fall for him with the mc, and truly understand why she would eventually fall for him. He's really selfless, and kind, and sweet. I'm really happy with the ending. And, while I was sad because of the MC's actions, I understand why she did what she did. And, she grows, she has character development. At the end, when the realization finally dawns on her makes everything worth it.

I don't normally write reviews, but this masterpiece deserves recognition, and not weirdo's with no media literacy.

im in with the comment above me as well

i think everything that happened in this manga often happened as well IRL. girl got bullied and had to play the bullies "punishment game", including confessed to the most gross boy around the school. the girl couldnt do anything beside keeping those stress in her chest, while playing along with the bullies.

the boy, however, granted with such supportive classmates, shown that he could give some happiness to the girl, which made the girl heart went "kyun". in the meantime, the girl had to keep "lying" even though she knew she had fallen in love with him for real.

the story wrapped up with how the girl tried to open up again, even toward the bullies, because she knew, her boyfriend would be there beside her again and again.

tl;dr : bullies bad. dont blame the victim, blame the perpetrator

gigathe story’s fine. 8/10, concept was quite new, the author did great on depicting the main characters as humans with personalities, backstory, and emotions instead of the normal lazy cardboard cutout self insert male protagonists. character development was very good, and the mental breakdown the fmc had during ch12-14 were possibly one of the best and most realistic ive ever seen psychological states being portrayed in any manga ive seen.

unfortunately, the resolution and ending does take away from the score ive given quite a bit. somehow the author managed to make this manga/novel’s ending both too stretched out and too short at the same time. the author’s attempt at wrapping up the story with the female protagonist apologizing to everyone after her boyfriend’s classmates forgive her just because her boyfriend asked them to is kind of too happy go lucky and cliche for my taste, personally, especially when the author tried to shove the “power of friendship” bs in the face of the reader. though i do acknowledge that the story becoming too edgy eg. someone said there should be logging off of the world or self injury in the ending, would not be ideal, i felt like there could have been a middleground where the protagonists have to work harder to regain the classmates’ trust. also, the epilogue was like 2 pages, wth author?

anyways tldr; very very good read until ch 15, the rest is kinda bad imo

ps. ryouichi and haruto are actual:chad:s in human form
