Well I sure wasn't expecting that. I guess it explains why senpai wasn't dodging Masashi's sister.
All in all, not sure if I quite like this development, but my words it was a wholesome chapter!
Thanks for the translation!

This went forward so fast that I can't call it delicate.
That’s my only real issue with it. It hits the stereotypical beats - the oppressive parent, the free-spirited outsider, the land of freedom away from struggles - but it gets to them so quickly that it’s almost comedic. As soon as he said he wanted Sailor Mars instead of a Dragon Ball character (very subtle) I pegged him (no pun intended) as gay or a trap that was made to dress as a guy because the mom wanted a boy but had a girl, blah blah blah. I just didn’t expect every revelation to hit in 10 pages.

When I read the line about "I want sailor moon" I thought it's the typical tomboy looking girl trope but yeah the line about Tokyo and saving up money points to Kouichi being possibly transgender. Anyways, wholesome chapter.

Haha, guess next chapter will be how the best day of Kouichi's life turns into the worst day due to big sis's bullshit.

These developments went by way too fast. This and the previous chapter were pretty chaotic, but in a mostly good/fun way. Still, this needed more foreshadowing. Jumping from just meeting this guy to helping him crossdress at the drop of a hat is a bit much. The previous girl (who was "friends" with the bully) had better buildup.

As a side note, the most important revelation to me was how Asako and Masa's relationship is evolving. Masa doesn't understand the nuance, but Asako casually dropping her earlier dislike of hanging out with him proves she's taking him more seriously as a person, rather than fulfilling an obligation to be tolerant of children.

Its been a min since the last couple chapters,so i feel like ive forgotten some stuffm can someone give a explanation of whats going on, mainly like do we know why asako has been so secretive and not using her real name? or we just haven't reached that yet? and mainly why does she act like that with mc? like is it because at that point he was still a kid, so she never took him seriously or is it for some other reason?

Not gonna lie, our MC in the past, his "childishness"/naivety is really getting the best of him. He wants to be with Asako, but he has no idea how to express/understand these feelings fully/maturely.

Rule 1: Homphobia is against the rules.
You're joking, right....?
No I'm not. Ask any parent whether they'd prefer a mid twenties woman have sex with their teenage or pre-teen son or whether they'd prefer a mid twenties woman encourage their teenage or pre-teen son to be homosexual. Vast majority would prefer the former because the former results in a son who is a normal adult who will get married and have kids while the latter results in a son who is a homosexual genetic dead end who will never give you grand kids.

A lot of people are so delusional and out of touch with nature and reality that they think that being homosexual is just as good a state of affairs as being healthy and normal. This is as deluded as believing that it is as good to have schizophrenia as to be healthy and normal, or believing that having syphilis is as good as not having syphilis.

Just came from skim reading the rest of volumes 5,6 and 7. Not a bad ending; Masashi got closure.

A bit annoyed at how they depicted Asako and her generation. She looks 55 not 42.

Agreed, I also got too invested in the story to wait for the releases, so I skimmed through the remaining volumes and started to translate this on my spare time to catch all the missing detail.

A terrible mistake. I recall the TL (Daphie) mention this series is somewhat time-consuming to work on, I can see why. The manga is wordy and there's some pretty long-winded dialogue that takes quite a bit of thinking to make flow well in English without losing too much nuance (I'm not a native English speaker either...).

IKR, I was looking forward to finally seeing the beautiful, now middle-aged Asako as a reward for reading to the end, but...

Still, always happy to read an age-gap story that doesn't try to water down or apologize for its premise too much. Looking forward to future releases.
