I think she is just a spectator of the events, similar to how fans are just spectators to what streamers show them and not actually related to streamers in any meaningful way. She interacts with the stream and the gossip and is intensely affected by them, which gives the reader the illusion that she's part of the story. But she's not. And I suspect she will not be a part of it until the end.
