It's less so than you'd think. I've battled depression and anxiety throughout my entire life, and read many complex novels and seen all manners of films. (Except superhero movies, I can't stand those, but to each their own.)
But I've never felt seen as I have with EVA as a series, and "End of Evangelion". Admittedly, I have not seen the remake movies yet. But I do mean to eventually.
Also, if we wanna' talk toxic parenthood, that entire show is a PERFECT example of it. She'd probably get a ton out of it honestly, haha.
