Yeah, I love everything about this manga except for that. Like, I get that many people think bigger is better, but everything has a point at which too much of it is bad.

Seriously, I can never understand why in this type of story (this one, the one with the healer getting booted from the party etc.) the MCs getting booted from the party "has to" leave all of *their* belongings behind because they somehow "belong to the party" AND that they actually go along with that kind of scam by cleaning out their pockets and bending over like they're just obedient slaves or something...

To avoid a fight, at least in a crowded area where others could be hurt, giving up the items and money was the right choice. The wrong choice was not immediately reporting them for robbing you and kicking up a very public stink about it. Using a street performance to draw a huge crowd and spreading word of this would also help by putting public pressure on to not let them off the hook.

Besides, they failed to kill the demon king. So, no one is going to support them. At least not the people with power. So, their asses aren't going to be covered out of the belief that it is an unfortunate necessity because they're too important for everyone's survival to punish.
