This ending is BS!
-->
In chapter 16 when we got to see Dylan go to the demon continent with the "hero of the sword" Laius's party, they encountered a "demon king's general" and lost to him.
In chapter 17 Dylan mentioned that the kings of the alliance actually prefer to keep the current status quo in their power balance instead of killing the "demon king" who is not actually a monster to begin with.
That is also confirmed in chapter 22 by the king of Vangerland Theoderic's inner monologue.
Then finally in chapter 25 and 26 it is revealed that the demon king and his generals are not "monsters" or "evil beings" but simply humans - just adventurers hailing from the continent referred to as "demon king's continent" who actually conquered the tower on their continent.
Dylan even reveals that those "demons" themselves are believers of the Monte Faith - the same faith that the saint in that hero's party follows.
Furthermore he states that they took on those demonic appearance's because of Monte's curse which was most likely placed on them by the church of Monte - as most high ranking members like bishops and the pope are corrupt and only aiming to fill their own pockets.
-->
Therefore ending this series with the statement that Dylan's ultimate goal is the defeat of the demon king is absolute BS!
Edit:
The real course of action for the story was inclining towards revealing the truth about the corrupt church after conquering the tower of Babel, then free the people of the corrupt church and bring peace between both continents.
