Having read the novel, it's kind of weird how it ended up being even more mean spirited to the mage girl when overall the manga adaptation has been a bit kinder to the former companions

Not really a fan of how the shota and his harem were able to be revived after being decapitated like that.

When you found out they were killed it was a shocking "oh shit wtf" moment but now they're back like nothing happened; death is a minor inconvience and doesn't have any real consequences.

This went from kinda campy to all-the-fuck-over-the-place, what is even going on. There's like 20 chapters left and it's like the mangaka thought the axe was swinging or something. And what was up with "A FEW YEARS LATER" - was that some kind of joke, like sword-guy stood there thinking for a long time? Because I read it literally and got confused thinking he was supposed to be with them "a few years later" only somehow Team Shota hadn't aged at all. Then I read it figuratively and it's stupid that way too. FUCK

I like this manga because it had the courage to break from the stereotypical "rotten blond hero" mold. Rather than him never learning his lesson and either continually getting shat on by life or turning evil, he actually experienced significant personal growth after hitting rock bottom and even ended up helping the main character in the end.
