The author's definitely hoping for a S2 to be made, according to their afterwords in the latest LN 5 release.

The only issue now is the lack of published source novels to adapt from; S1 covered LNs 1-3 and a bit of 4's beginning. 5 only covers half of a major story arc where the group

travels to the demon continent seeking answers about their situation

, so ideally S2 should come out around or after LN 6 comes out since that clears up that storyline.

I've also kept up with the WN; the current arc should form the basis of a future LN 7 but the plot pacing feels like 1/3rds of a full novel so far (even though the author updates weekly).
