I still didn't understand shit. Is she a samurai class due to blood heritage or due to magic heritage from the awakening ritual? And if it was from the ritual, then does it overwrite her dormant natural class or can she awake it in the future?

@RandomDoge She's a Samurai class because of the Mana Awakening medicine that she was given. Remember, the tutor assassin had to mix some of his own Samurai mana during that time. It's already shown that she doesn't have mana, so she doesn't have a "class" to speak of. It was a risky gambit, as he mentioned in earlier chapters.

He could have let someone else do it for him and let her get the medicine from someone with the Paladin mana, but he would be exposed because no such medicine is known in public and those that do know of it would definitely go after his and even Merida's head.

@nyaako Understood, thank you. Yet it brings another question. If his mission was monitoring her to determine her true blood and if confirmed, kill her to prevent the shame of the society discovering that the noble blood got "dirtied"by the birth of a bastard. Wouldn't it be easier for the family to use the Mana Awakening medicine and awake her as a true paladin?

that medicine is not something the other class are aware of he mention it was a secret of his line of work he is mainly and assassin is not just to be hidden from the public but from the other classes and organisations as well and following the moral line of the paladin families she is only alive because they haven't prove she is a bastard which it was suppose to be his job to find out but now he won't do it, look at the paladin arrogance and self importance they will rather kill her and make it like she never existed then bring shame to there line allowing a bastard like her become a paladin with a shady medicine, they are so proud of there line that they knowing she was made and not born will still be a stain in there line.

Firstly that "father" is truly trash, and then we have to deal with that nonesense joy kill instant win and shouneqsue plot with the Mummy guy... in one chapter I lost quite a lot of interest in this series how disappointing... 😫😱😟

This mc confuses me... first he wanted to kill her and get this over with...then he wanted help her get stronger...then he took a risk that could cost his life as well...then he got invested in how she represents his ability as a teacher even though he is only a teacher for the purpose of this mission...then despite spending a whole chapter about how he has no emotions and prides himself on acting but he got angry and happy for merida's sake...This development is just too fast for me.
