Those are some convenient poisons and concoctions for the second trial. Aside from the fact that nobody should want to drink a poison that will rob them of their senses, (literally) blindly trusting everything will be alright afterwards, it feels like that whole thing could have been arranged even without such medicines. The telepathy drug is a bit more understandable, though if such a thing exists, surely it could also be used, in greater doses, to scour the minds of hapless victims during interrogations. All in all it also felt superfluous for a trial like this. Another thing is that you wouldn't expect those potions to even work for Kuufa. The dude is a monster, after all.
