thanks for the tl, i actually had a similar fiasco yesterday when i deleted a 40k cell spreadsheet for work i know exactly how it feels

Hard-power off. Plug HDD to a different machine, run a tool that allows you to restore removed files. Same machine would work too, but its still better to power-off and unplug the drive till you get the tools downloaded and installed. If you lucky you will get everything back, if you aren't cause PC somehow managed to overwrite the data on the HDD - then you are fucked. Thou won't lie I am not sure how this works with SSDs - never really deleted anything by mistake on SSD thus far, but me thinks its the same, just you need to hope trim/etc won't do its job, and not just overwriting stuff.

Not a question to me, and probably slightly unrelated, but I once used a software called ACDSee or something like that - to mange all the images/pictures. Worked far better than what ever Win10/Win7 have had build in them. And that program somehow had admin like rights, and when I marked something for deletion and by mistake selected the whole disk - it deleted the whole damn disk - we talking 2TB worth of movies/animes/mangas/pictures. But the above procedure and a borrowed drive (to have enough space to restore the data to) saved me like 95% of stuff. Some stuff got lost or damaged, cause before I managed to power off PC windows already overwrote some stuff, which on movies/bigger files just corrupts them a bit/stuff so they were failing CRC checks - most of that would be easily fixed by well utorreing stuff again and downloading just missing parts.

Well, I also make videos for YT and deleted all the pages with the unused thumbnails and videos after editing it. went out to get some almond milk before redoing it again.

Manga does a shit job showing that though. Right now, he looks like a dick who doesn't give a fuck about his harem who is worried sick over something he can clear up in 2 seconds. They pull swords right infront of him while he is slurping down some meat lol. An OP character who is so detached from reality apart from getting his dick wet isn't really fun to read.
