The monetary system is inconsistent. Based on 2 silver being 20000 yen and 5 large copper being 1/4 of 2 silver I made the following calculations. I made the assumption that 1 large copper is 10 medium copper but it could easily be 1 large copper is 2 medium copper.

If 2 silver coins is about 20,000 yen then the merchant's guild wants 25 silver == 250,000 yen (about $1750) for their registration fee while the adventure's guild only wants 5 large copper == 5,000 yen (about $35) for theirs. Blade offered Karina 6 large copper (about $42) for her "services". He then laughed at her 100 gold joke and gave her 1 medium copper (100 yen or about 70 cents) which supposedly is enough for a meal. The logs on the quest were worth 1 silver (about $70) each while the 2 goblins where worth a total of 1 large copper.
