I had the impression that "Warewolf" is an old board game from 90's though. the first time I've played one is around 2017.

Wasn't the werewolf game made somewhere backs in the 80s?

As far as I know, the original game was Mafia, from the 80's, which is a social game. Werewolf was the first variant, but I'm not sure exactly when. Could be 90's. Board games are later, though I don't know much about them.

Town of Salem is built on Mafia, which Werewolf is a variant of. Among Us is far more recent.
