@hu74n you are not alone in noticing the preponderance of Yaoi themed manga chapters posted at times compared to most other genre (even Isekai which seems to have its own constant stream). Even on the old Batato site in the last years there was the trend that seemed already be showing that same tilt. Like you, I don't care if Yaoi or Yuri is posted. Its not a rage on my part, its simply an observation and a bit of jealously that the genres that I am interested in could have have as devoted and consistently posting following as that one does.

To be correct, it's not "gay manga", it's almost exlusively terribly written yaoi made for fujoshi. That's a huge difference (at least for me). I would welcome bara manga everytime over those things.

Im not bothered by so many yaoi manga being on the site but I am looking forward to that filter. As is, the covers let me down way too often. Hot girl on the cover? Its a trap. Two badass guys? They spend the chapter boning. A dog on the cover? The dog is gay.

Hey. I'm one of those people who uploads yaoi from time to time. I think the updates is just cause of a huge backlog of unuploaded released yaoi manga in the past. The one I just recently binge uploaded, for example, is something by my favorite author, whose scanlations has been released a year ago but has not been uploaded here. And there's still like 3 other series by the same author whose chapters haven't been uploaded.

In contrast, most of the shounen/seinen manga had been uploaded way back when MD started since of course, they're popular. At least, that's how I see it.

If anything, a good feature to add is maybe a checkmark that asks if it's an old scanlation rather than a recent one so those uploads won't show in the front page.

Yeah, having a feature to filter stuff from the front page would be good. As someone who reads yaoi it's kinda annoying how useless the ratings on this site are when there are some who just give 1 star to anything they see BL.

yo i'm gonna keep it 100, the covers for these yaoi/shonen ai stories are low key beautiful. They are well drawn, good colors, great font. They may not be my cup of tea but every time i click on them for that reason alone

LMAO Im a yaoi fan but my god Im even overwhelmed myself by the amount of them year after year. They become so beautifully drawn each year despite lacking story. The bishounens becomes more attractive.

Those shota traps manga though mostly are done by hentai mangaka, I think. Ive been reading yaoi for 8 years and those that are closely similar to hentai, are most probably done by hentai mangaka.

Most crossdressing yaoi manga Ive seen are drawn by a yaoi mangaka with bishounen just wearing women clothings. They have richer story too, often times. There also bara-yaoi hybrid ones that are inbetween being muscular and bishounen. Bara for sure is written by a bara mangaka.

There's atleast 4 classification to them now, I guess: Shounen-Ai, BL/Yaoi, Bara and those ones that are done like a Hentai manga would be.. Mostly traps and shotacon

I admit, the filter feature is a great tool to have
