One thing that's not really being brought up is that the MC doesn't really need to keep his "running away" secret from his parents. He could call up his parents, explain the situation to them, and have them organise their living situation and school for them (assuming they get along and the parents wouldn't rat him out, or ruin everything).

This guy let her go to the store without a battle buddy / escort which led to her being forcibly returned home. As much as I hope that's the case.... I doubt he can think that far ahead. We still see.... I'm rooting for them.
