I hope this ends up with her falling for him, and when she finally admits it he just goes "cool, see ya", disappearing and making her go ???? and the manga just ends there with no explanation of what his deal actually was.

But we know that aint the direction it's going.

I mean, she's not wrong on anything she's saying. This is a Captain Savior a hoe maiden complex like most of these short manga are.

Not that you shouldn't help people out when you can, last thing we need is more edgy protags, but you can't really deny how self indulgent these are.
You can't deconstruct something you are constructing yourself

"It's like you're trying to impose your selfish kindness on me."
Girl, maybe I'm crazy but that probably isn't a bad thing in your situation.

He's paying her to take nude photos of her I think.

So this turns out to be incorrect.

The lesson here:
Give kindness without an agenda.
And never view friendship as transactional
With the mindset at play here, all kindness has "an agenda": even if you're not expecting anything in return (although, you know, most people expect the ones they show kindness to to reciprocate and favourably interact with them socially), you are still acting in self-interest as you improve your own image in your own eyes by doing what you perceive as commendable (both culturally and in fact neurologically, human brains are wired to make helping the in-group pleasurable even if the help is altruistic). So there's no winning this one.
The only solution is ignoring the need for justifications at all - kindness is its own reward, and that's it.

Did you just sit here and try justifying being nice for sex or something?

I had a slight, pointless hope that this would be a deconstruction of the white knight "let me fix her" POV protags.

But I'm pretty sure the author thinks in some twisted way the semi-predatory protag is in the right.

Author:"The easiest scores are the broken ones"
There's nothing to fix here, there's a person that could use some food, and a person giving them some food. I bet if you time traveled and saw a dude kill a lion with a spear as it was trying to eat a woman you would start dissing him for acting all high and mighty. Dude sees cute girl he likes, dude also sees she has a problem, namely she's dying due to malnutrition, dude gives her food, girl receives food, girl doesn't die, girl is happy, guy doesn't see the girl he likes die, guy is happy. Whether or not they get in a relationship is then for them to decide, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a white knight.
