Finally, this is taking too long! Too many chapters for this target.

A warning from someone who is up to date with the webnovel (that has a total of 6 races compared to the 9 of the Light Novel). Only recently the last revenge target(6th) was captured.

The first 3 targets have been fast, and although I can't say much for 2 of the new characters, it will take a long time for them all to be captured. But there are new enemies ahead and the plot offers some strange twists later on, he also has to search for his surviving family, considering his older brother and younger sister did not appear alongside his dead parents.

Honestly, compared to the light elves, this revenge felt much less elaborate. I wonder if he'll try to mess with the dark elf nation.

It’s not as satisfying as I’d hoped. It’s an OK punishment. But It’ll be awhile before we get to see the aftermath. Likely they’ll show us what they’re experiencing after all 8 were captured, demoralized and tortured.

Well this was unsastifying. Shion was too...unrepentant . At least the previous ones had proper fear. oh well...

Yeah, I think the big issue is he didn't really refute her:
"My experiments were cruel, but for a better tomorrow for everyone, the ends justify the means!"
"lol no, now be eaten cause you're bad"

I think a more appropriate punishment, that would have shown the the error of her ways, would be to make HER the test subject for experiments. Make her admit she doesn't care about the results anymore, because she herself can't tolerate the experiment.

Calling this series a snails pace would be insulting snails. Like multiple people said here this revenge feels pretty flat and/or hollow as he doesn't actually refute her just basically says "You are evil".
I'm also like "So he's sent her to the shadow realm for 24hrs to be tortured" and then I thought about it some more and was well if he's sending her to be forever tortured after this whats the point of the 24hr torture? She's gonna be mind broken so it's not like she'll realise her research was in the wrong?!?

Oh yeah I know what you are talking about, black hero or something like that.
But yea, for those who are wondering in that revenge. The hero got revenge from a female scientist character like the one here by essentually forcing her to drink her own potions and poisons (they were the same) and watch her scramble to get the antidote for that poison. Then essentually strap her back on a chair and do the entire thing again but a different poison...until she finally dies after about 4+ hours of doing that.

So I can understand why people think this revenge is underwhelming as there were many missed opportunities.

To be fair though, anyone that wanted revenge on her passed on once free from the spirit dragon. And they were in a dungeon so can't use any resurch against the scientist character.

So I think this was the alternative instead of knocking her out and seeing the aftermath of her being tortured. Pushing that to another chapter.

Besides, who said they won't do more to her after she gets out?

I tihnk the problems gonna be she'll be mind broken from the 24hrs so the "Eternal suffering" she's about to recieve seems kinda pointless. Infact really continuing to make someone suffer that's essentially catatonic instead of dead just feels edgey for edgeys sake.

Eternal torture, unless he has a way to heal their minds as well. It won't matter and even then. Forever ehh, dam thats kind much. Still, can someone who betrayed him just be a "it was just business" and not an over-the-top irredeemable bastard. And will he ever face a foe that can actually challenge him?

Considering his "party" ad his and their levels, no is the only answer I can give.
