Yeah, like i mentioned in a comment above, this is LN v4, the start of it, in the WN it was after the 2nd target, but because the LN added 3 more races into the story, it was moved after the 3rd target, though the flashback is pretty short

I know that this is basically a lit-RPG, I accept the notion of "levels" and "skillz", but every time these sort of stories use such blatant game mechanics in their stories, I cringe inside. This isn't a smidgen of a living world anymore, just an actual video game.

The only story I saw that subverted that trope, was Kumo desu ga. At least that story tried fit in its systemic game mechanics into its world.
I shouldn't even bother to comment anymore, this is a waste of time.
