Imma get a little bit analytical.

Even though it’s a date between Atori and Suzu, Yuu comes up more than a few times.

Atori mentions that Yuu told her that if Suzu is hungry and sees fish she may go hunter mode. I wonder between this comment and Yuu freaking out seeing them after the date means Atori asked Yuu indirectly for intel on Suzu or if Yuu was fully aware of the aquarium meet up. Also a callback to mama bear Suzu catching fish in the woods.

This is a stretch but…
when Suzu and Atori look at the big school of fish, Suzu comments that she’s “more drawn to the lone fish that stray from the group” (aka the singular weirdo Yuu). Atori doesn’t get the appeal.

Atori brings up Yuu when she brings up a little Nikumaru style fun fact about eels and dogs.

And then of course Yuu shows up at the end.

Now I’m a militant SuzuYuu extremist. But here’s how I see it.

The manga has to run SuzuYuu and SuzuTori at the same time. That way you get the SuzuTori friends to lovers, will they won’t they tropes. And SuzuTori lets them have the big romance date chapters, which in any other series would be the ship setting sail.

And SuzuYuu on the other hand lets them have the warm, fuzzy, childhood friend pure love vibes. And the yearning / pining from Suzu.

One ship feeds the other. Yin and yang, two sides of the same coin.

...and of course the FMC look like shizuku
I think that's the part that's bothering me 😅😂
...that one got sex scene right after series start
Are you talking about Aitsu no Kanojo or this new one? Because the sex scene in the new one is barely a sex scene. The first few pages had bro soft as a pillow. The only thing that made him hard was the Shizuku look-alike.

hmm
okay that confession scene got me thinking about Tamifull's toxic pairing
I'd say that doesn't bode well, but we are in a 4koma so it's prob'ly fine

I saw that. All I know is that I am not reading that. It feels way too stupid to read.
omfg
the morbid curiosity got the better of me
and I thought NTR doujins were absurd before, but this one really takes the cake

I agree, way too stupid
though anyone who can read it as a comedy could maybe enjoy it

Nikumaru is so good at this but i don't like Yuu getting sidelined like this, and i dont like the idea of Rura as a romantic partner for her either

I mean,

In several senses....the two of them seem more compatible than Suzu & Yuu, or Yuu & Atori.

Sure, Suzu doesn't like Atori. But...I mean, that's not an immutable state of things, and all it would take is Atori actually putting in effort to become the kind of person Suzu would like.

And as for Yuu....she seemingly has zero romantic awareness of Suzu, and I don't see that changing, passive as Suzu herself is. She really doesn't seem the type to actually make purposeful headway, and is embodying that "I'm her closest childhood friend and I guess that's going to have to be good enough".
And Yuu just outright worships Atori as some embodied ideal - but it kinda feels like an Oshi situation, with a slight attracted bent, but unless I'm really misremembering it's not "I want to date her" energy, per se.

So.....yeah. Clearly, the vibe feels like NTR where Atori "steals" Suzu away, and I think there's an argument that this is the exact fantasy the author's trying to invoke.

But .......that all necessitates Yuu actually growing an awareness of the texture of all the feelings and dynamics between the three of them, and she's been written as an idiot. So, not really seeing that changing, given how central it is to her character, and the inherent comedy born of her staying that way.
Plus, this chapters sorta puts forward the idea that Atori really wants Suzu in a way that you can't say Yuu does, or will for who-knows-how-long. Suzu could very well be happy and fulfilled in a relationship with Atori, at least for awhile.
And if she won't get what she wants from Yuu, then....I mean.

-

Now that I've thoroughly overanalyzed the dynamic of those three beyond what's probably appropriate, much less necessary, I'll just say "thanks for the TL".
I always struggle with SuzuTori as a couple. It would mean Suzu would have to fall for Atori while she still loves Yuu, and betray Yuu in the process. It just feels too heavy for this story.

Or that Ruu would somehow make a successful move on Yuu that Suzu is ok with? Imo this will happen when the sun sets in the east.

if you don’t mind spoiling yourself and dealing with MTL pixiv has an entry for the SuzuTori tag
