Honestly this all makes sense.
Baki was raised by an extremely wealthy mother in his early years.
Jack had a far simpler childhood with nothing but training on his mind.
I am hoping this will unlock something in him. Everyone always told him his body needs rest, and just like when Retsu served Baki food for him to replenish in the China tournament, this might rejuvenate Jack.

Though I will say Jack being able to just dunk back a glass of sherry like that without gagging on his very first time is kinda hard to believe.

Jack is so big and strong, but his mind is so fragile. He constantly looks for validation from a father he didn't have. Now, he's desperate to be approved by Yujiro and twists words that put him in his mind better than Baki. I'm sorry for him, to be honest. He even modified his body to reach this level of external validation. This is a manga, but in reality, in the end, it's all the parents' fault for not giving enough love to their children.

Man I love seeing the other sides of Jack this chapter really highlights who he is in a lot of ways. I still find it kinda strange at times Yujiro is actually kinda a “good dad” but Jack’s probably gonna get his ass beat within the next 2-3 chapters
