Well, most likely he gave it to avoid more law issues.

I mean, Divorce Laws in most Countries are set in such a way currently that they favour the Wife highly more than the Husband, even if the one at fault is the Wife.

So, even in cases were it was the Wife who cheated and the Husband had valid reason to file a divorce, in the end it's the Husband who has to pay up either Alimony or something equivalent after divorce (that's why marriage fraud by Woman fraudsters are a lot common in many countries).

And considering the Divorce procedure lasted 6 months, I am sure he gave-up on the property and paid the loan as well, just so he could be free more sooner.

And this is why men aren't as willing to put themselves out there for marriage these days. They hear or read enough of these horror stories from divorces, they'd rather live their lives unhappy and alone than unhappy with someone else (who's likely the main cause of it all). Even worse if the men were falsely accused by their wives of abuse or something else.

With more women gaining favor in these cases, holding power in the law as well as relationships, more men are getting emasculated of not just their dignity, but their rights to happiness, or even to stand up for themselves. That's partially why there are more 'pathetic MCs' seen in media, because that's becoming more the norm of how they live irl.

I mean being frank a lot of people rush into marriage far too soon. Like of my friends who are happily married longtime the shortest time between was 3 years. And most of the others were together for 5+ years before finally marrying.

Or my hottake if you can't see yourselves together for over a decade easily then don't fucking get married. Having kids isn't a reason to get married either. You can be a good parent without being married to the other. You being there and helping parent your kid(s) is infinitely more important than the other way around.

As for the work itself yeah the MC is kind of pathetic but I'm invested to see him improve. Doubt it'll be immediate but hopefully he'll use this as an opportunity to become a better person.

So he gave his cheating ex the apartment, and he paid the rest of the loan on it? That's not being nice, dude is just a pathetic doormat. That scene where he said that “it was his fault” just made him seem even more pathetic.

The only thing I find interesting in this dog shit of a series is that the dude banging the ex wife was actually freaking out because from the looks of it he didn't know she had a husband, that's rare in a NTR/Cheating stuff, I can't think of ever seeing that in manga heck even in doujins b4

I think there should be way more men or women designed who are freaked out at the fact that they are helping the other individual cheat aka in this series its shown that the ex wife fucked over both the dude railing her and her husband

Honestly, after being a victim of anxiety ED the MC's woes did sit well for the setup, like Rudy's ED issue in Mushoku Tensei.

I don't like this. It's porn, and porn is supposed to make me aroused enough to touch my pee pee hole. This isn't doing that. It's making up a hypothetical situation Rent-A-Girlfriend style and trying to throw by brain for a loop. It's cheap, insulting to the reader, and wastes my time with plot-chapters and not sex-chapters.

He thinks everything goes back to his ED, that all his ex's subsequent issues stem from his inability to satisfy her the one chance he had.

One can hope he'll eventually realize that she never had any interest in him at all beyond financial stability and lose the self-loathing, but it'll more-than-likely be a case where he covers it up with new romantic entanglements, instead.

Reading the chapter, I also initially thought he's a really pathetic and dumb guy, but then it was indeed explained sufficiently. Not that it would make him outstanding or his decisions especially smart, but it made his decision rational, in a certain sense. He thought he failed the wife first, so while her actions terminated the marriage, he believes it was his fault the wife resorted to such a dishonest lifestyle. The wife's reaction pretty much reveals she was relieved he finally found out and it's all over.

Who knows why they couldn't just end the dysfunctional marriage like civilised people, instead of leaving it to a personal scandal. Perhaps because the MC believed himself to be a fundamentally asexual person, so he was content enough with the marriage. The wife was financially dependant on him, so she was probably afraid of the marriage ending for concrete reasons, even if she actually wanted it to end, emotionally speaking.
