I'm torn, but my heart goes out to Fujii. Maybe it was wrong to put it all on the line in the final, but the kid put on his best and bravest performance and he was rewarded with everyone on his team giving up on him except for Kano. It's also so hypocritical of DL to give up on Fujii when they let Marui play this entire time and kept Kano on the bench. If they really cared so much about going to Koshien, then they should've played with their A-team and mercy ruled Kachusha. If they wanted to let every bench warmer play and give everyone on the team happy memories, then they shouldn't have given up on Fujii. Better yet, they should've played Fujii and Kano to make this game a real slugfest and everyone would have been happy. Maybe the theme of this arc was supposed to be fulfilling personal goals and making happy memories, but so far, the team angst feels like half baked ideals and disappointing reality with the faintest hope for Kano salvation.

Every team wants to win in their own way but sometimes the sports Gods are just cruel. Still, Fuji got his shot and now has a story to tell over some drinks.
