i like how you noticed him on the next volume preview. we usually don't bother with those pages because they're a pain to clean and we're onto the next volume anyway but here's the text on that Nabeken page:

"i want to play in a match! all players feel the same way inside. even if you're teammates those who play the same position are rivals! teammates who are the same age are also rivals! if you're on the pitch, the opponent in front of you is also a rival! one of ryuu's rivals is watanabe kenta... scramble!"
