So finally took it out of my "on hold" list and got up to date with it and holy shit, first off amazing work everyone on the be blues project about the series itself I simply can't wait for it to come back from hiatus and continue its arguably one of the best mangas I've read so far, with obviously some flaws here and there
Mangaka-sensei please let Anna come back, please
but yeah I would like to think the series returns before the end of the year.

On a personal level having suffered a couple severe injuries I gotta say the emotions got to me several times through the series and I could relate to a couple characters very easily, that just goes to show how real the series can get, 9.5 for me at the moment.

This and Ao Ashi is on par in term of story development, kind of amateur at the beginning but grow to be a very fascinating story. Art wise, Be blues has a more feminine design while Ao ashi is more shonen-like style imo, so-so but still enjoyable. Both of it are very good manga, come with one of the best scanlator. Super combo!!!

It's a good read but it's hard to imagine anyone liking Sakuraba. I personally prefer Ao Aoshi because I like the "rising star" type of protagonist in sports manga rather than a "fallen phoenix", and the cast is more remarkable. But this is good too, though I didn't get into it until 90ish chapters in

Guess who's back in two weeks? "Be blues" is back in Sunday #43!

I prefer to not enter into the "ao ashi", "be blues" debate... Anyway, time to re-binge everything maybe?

@HCO We all have different preferences, but I like this manga a lot better. I think we have so many "rising phoenix" type of manga (Slam dunk, Major, Days, Ace of Diamond, Offside, Area no Kishi) so Ao ni Nare has been a fresh take for me especially on Football/Soccer genre. Ichijou I think is the most clutch player in sports genre, because he always delivers when it matters most. Also reminds me of Marco Reus's career ever because he missed a lot of opportunities growing up due to injuries.

I'm want to ask, i'm in ch.8 rn and our MC is a LWF when he's 12 but looking at how he play, is he going to transform into a CM or CAM in the future?

@Cardboard he plays a bit all over the place in the attacking areas in different stages of the manga, but he is usually the creator and scorer in equal measure, so a CAM is a fair assessment

This manga starts off as slice of life with football as the hook and personal growth as the leitmotiv. Now it's solely about football which annoys me quite a bit as I don't really like this sport.
