Hopscotch/Rayuela by Cortázar is a jewel of Latinoamerican writing, you have the main story and the "accesorial" chapters for a more expanded reading, and in the main story there's a chapter that doesn't make any sense untill you read the even an then the odd lines lines (I mean line 1-3-5...) it's one of those books that i don't know if the translator can make justice.
