Now, remember that in real life, you gotta use clean gloves, cuz supposedly, the smell change caused by human hands will cause the momma bird to think that the baby is different. Not sure how true that really is, but they taught me that as a kid. It may also be due to the Mom liking the bird out. Now, if there is a baby cuckoo in the nest kicking the other babies out (parasite), then it's more complex. Then, removing the cuckoo may save them.
