The translator dropped this because the next chapter is supposed to have some nudity in it. I guess it's the first time he read one of Matsumoto's works. Here's hoping someone picks it up again. Personally I prefer this setting to Joshi Kouhei and would like to see more of it.

It feels like reading heavy metal and truely freaky late 80's comics. Like watching a truck barelling downhill out of control, Witnessing someone dive into an absurd world of violence and trying to cope with it.

Violence IS NOT SUPPOSED TO FEEL GOOD. seeing people die and actively partaking in their passing just gives you ptsd, not exp and camaraderie.

so i'm all aces for another experience like a Spiegelmann, Comès or Moebius comic.
i'm even fine with a comeback story like Singelin's PTSD.

and i perfectly understand that it will not be the opinion of most.

I dont think this is going to topple "alice in hell".
Jiro def nudged the limits of legality with that.
if you're scanning matsumoto, absolutely read freesia first, then the others.

it's the least difficult of the his works and that does mean you might never really experience something as unique as matsumoto gets... if you begin reading him with alice in hell or this.
because it not supposed to be a pleasant experience.

I wasn't feeling it at first either. Took a few chapters, some world building, for it to grow on me. It's more of a Freesia type world (without the schizophrenia) than his more recent stuff.

From reading the first four chapters, all I've learned is that Japan is in a civil war, and that every person in there likes to say the word "fucking" and/or "kill" a lot (Edgy as shit, 0/10 wtf)

it kinda makes sense in some way
like, tatoo group, welfare group can develop habits completely different than one another
welfare group often deal with normal citizens, become kind and very empathetic to others
while tatoo group often deal with criminals in designated war area, and often went up against some of their own for the lamest reason, develop a ton of swearing and very brutal to others

however what i dont get is why school girls specifically
they do have normal men on the border back there
unless theres some massive major conflict goin on else where, i cant imagine a reason for them to recruiting high school girls into this kind of services
in welfare group, i guess its like volunteering work, but its different world for the tatoo group,
not to mention orphan girls turn to gang crimes
imagine this happening irl, girl gangs would get absolutely crushed by all the other real gangs

also, if theres a massive major war front going on like world war 1, taking away majority of adult men, how do they even manage to have a community shown in the recent chapters, without it falling to ruins by enemy air raids?


in short, this is just an artist/author nutdream fantasy about highschool girls running CIA black ops in local communities and raiding houses
