This truly is the most amazing manga of all time.

Everything is forshadowed in those very first chapters.
I especially like the way Guts is portrayed. On the first read, you might think "this guy's just a selfish asshole who revels in battle". But with hindsight, one realises that's it's just a defense mecanism against the horror he has to face. He's trying to negate his humanity, but his actions and even his own body betray who he really is.

So many shitty mangas around here get 10/10 thrown at them. Yet, there's not a single one of those who reach half the greatness of Berserk.
