Probably not giving up. Just taking a break. I've got a lot going on rnI have read many of Towa's Manga and they are almost all Yuri. I abslolutely loved this chapter. Please don't give up on translating. Maybe do one or two a month until you get caught up. Thanks so much for all the hard work and I am so hoping that Hina and Susuki gets together
Hey what? I need way more context thereI'm going to post a very big WARNING here for readers and on the main comment section.
This manga... be VERY wary. I honestly don't know how to write this spoiler (First time ever being hesitant with my words). Basically, long story short one of them gets into a heterosexual relationship (NTR apparently), Sexual Harassment, and Domestic Violence. All you have to do is go to the amazon page for volume 6. I have never seen reviews this bad for a "Yuri". Yikes. Usually for the most part it's always pretty lax. Anyways proceed with caution. That is all.
i suddenly regret reading this at all...Here. For anyone wondering what the hell is going on. Be warned. Massive spoilers. The manga in question introduces a darker tone by deviating from its initial lighthearted atmosphere. In the 6th volume, the protagonist faces online attacks, leading to psychological distress and school absence. The latest development reveals that the protagonist's close friend, depicted on the cover, is seemingly experiencing domestic violence from a narcissistic senior. Notably, the protagonist also encounters harassment at work.
The upcoming 7th volume hints at the protagonist taking action to save the friend from the abusive situation. However, the release date being in January 2024 leaves readers anticipating the resolution while grappling with the suspense until then.
The manga's potential issues include the perceived difficulty in following the narrative's shift from a relaxed atmosphere to a more intense one. The introduction of a depressive storyline might be an attempt to generate impact in a climate where stories without significant twists struggle to gain attention. Additionally, the abrupt transformation of a resilient character into a victim of abuse raises questions about the authenticity of the plot. The friend's drastic change, seemingly influenced by a psychopathic antagonist, is deemed extreme, and the lack of intervention by her caring mother adds to the questionable nature of the story.
As for the resolution, there's speculation that the protagonist might turn to the internet for help, possibly leading to a revenge plot reminiscent of online forums like 2ch. However, considering the gravity of the issue, some readers find it challenging to believe that the problems can be resolved solely by the actions of teenagers.
In conclusion, the manga provides realistic and dramatic elements, but the extreme portrayal of domestic violence is criticized for being too intense, potentially causing readers' discomfort and strong reactions.
I would like to state that I still believe this series deserves a proper translation. I need answers
I love how the review mixes speculation and feelings and has little to none actual content from the book. Perhaps is a translation quirk, but still.Here. Took me a bit to figure out which manga on the author page you meant, so as to save time for others it's this one. Thanks for mentioning it, I'm going to check it out.If you still don't believe that this is yuri, go read After School. It's by Oshima Towa who also wrote this series. And it is very very much yuri

I'm glad to hear your cousin got out of that situation and found something better. As for this series? Still hoping for a happy ending for the two of them but I have no idea what to expect anymore. Either way definitely wouldn't be the most messed up yuri I've read. That "honor" goes to Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii Here (it is not for the faint of heart AT ALL. It has a miserable awful ending)Took me a bit to figure out which manga on the author page you meant, so as to save time for others it's this one. Thanks for mentioning it, I'm going to check it out.
To be fair to the artist, that's a realistic depiction of domestic violence. It can be incredibly difficult for people to escape. They tend to be afraid to talk to others about it, much less ask for help. Part of that's fear of the abuser, but there's also a lot of fear that others will think they failed in some way and caused it to happen to them.
I had a cousin who ended up in that situation and even though she's smart, strong mentally and had family willing to help, it took her years to get out. She eventually ended up in a great relationship and got a job as a dental assistant for an orthodontist. She's been happy ever since.
But it doesn't sound like the resolution in this manga is going to be handled well. As you said, how can a problem that serious be solved by a couple of teenagers. Lots of adults throughout the world struggle to solve it on a daily basis.
I honestly really liked Nanashi no Asterism but I'm also a sucker for Kina Kobayashi's art style. They did a BL series that I adore. It's this.As long as they end up together i'll accept whatever and if possible at least an epilogue that they are happy together not the crappy ending "our story is just beginning" when they meet again after a long time or else its just yuri baiting like The Antagonist's Pet/The Pet of the Villainess or Nanashi no Asterism
I would like to finish translating it. I just don't have the energy right now. I like to see a series through even with a tragedy enddang volume5 and its even getting heavier by those future scenes. I really started liking to read this but i cant have another traumatizing drama and by the looks of how far this goes, it will get serious with what they said above and on amazon reviews, they looked so serious and concerned for the future volume, knew I had this gut feeling that should've had a tragedy tag or something with how she remembered her. But, i want to be wrong about that.
Thank you scanlator san! I understand how you feel about continuing this.
with how many books ive read, i always remind myself that just cause one's author work was a good read it doesnt mean their other works are.
