I wouldn't say that's necessarily true! There are so many manga/manwha works out there; there's plenty of japanese protagonists that aren't afraid to speak their minds, and plenty of korean protagonists that are gentle and ladylike. I read a lot of this subgenre of fiction, and I can tell you for certain that there's an abundance of infuriatingly passive, delicate korean protagonists (that will sometimes ruin the whole series for me) in these types of works.

It's just a matter of what comic you're looking at!
