For the ladder for example, she was the one who reported it and soon after they're checking all of the library - I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they were doing that were to check for traps set just for the MC. Everything done can be viewed through a different lense - the fact that that one guy said what the prince says makes it seem like he's having an affair basically sets the tone that he isn't.
