I find myself wondering this with more and more series every month...

If I wanted high school romance tier bullshit, I'd read an actual high school romance. I don't care how emotionally and socially stunted otaku that are the target audience are, anyone behaving like this at these characters' age is downright pathetic. You can have them be shy and awkward without being so damn adolescent. I know it's said many people don't ever grow up after high school, but I don't think this is what they meant.

Or I could just have finally hit my breaking point with this and other series... who knows?

Perhaps this is where I'd apply this infamous quote: "don't like it, don't read it".

By now, we're pretty much familiar with how manga and comic works in general: A couple of chapters, or at best 10-20, will give you the general idea of whether the series is SFW or smut-level hentai. The only reason we read on and "hope" for something to happen is... well, because all of this is free. But we all know the actual answer is "just go read another title, fuck this shit".

This is where I'll take a small detour: The manhua scene. Yes, most of them are trash-tier longstrip with the only goal is to milk readers paying for fast-access... But what I'll give them prop to is that they don't hide their attention, like, at all. OPed MC who fuck tons of girls? We got you. Straightforward ordinary guy who only wants to use his superpower to get rich quick and date girls without ever sleeping with any of them? We got you. Badass MC using only his dumb luck and unintentionally creates his own harem army fighting for him? We got you. Manga wouldn't do any of that... but at the same time, I get tired of the safe stuff, and kinda just block any romcom title that isn't smut at this point lol.
