@ironclad If I recall correctly, he has been, shall we say, resisting his youthful impulses because there's a lady present.
Then he went to the hot springs, and between this and that, he has had a lot of things to consider(read as: he saw several nekkid or near-nekkid ladies in rapid succession).
So here we are now.

Amazingly, Birdy seems quite oblivious to all of this. Unaware that a teenage male might be affected by BOOBS, and unaware what exactly a boner means.

@Me i think its more to do with basically being trained since birth to fight and combat etc probably doesn't leave much time for you know bf's and gf or socail skills building that and when you experience life and death experience on a like semi daily basis all that sort of embarrassment stuff becomes a bit .. shall we say trivial? oh know this guys femoral artery is punctured but i don't wanna put my hand on his or her bits... its like dudes, dying is this really the time be be concerned about that lol

@firefox5926 See, that is a partial explanation, but surely she should at least be aware of the birds and the bees. She seems to be operating more at the "what's a boner?" level than the "Just a penis. Who cares?" level.

OR POSSIBLY she's just playing at naivete because it is funny. This is my headcanon now, crisis averted.
