Gotta say, following all of the magic mumbo jumbo about creating a world to resurrect him etc, I really like the explanation of "didn't you know? Mirio's just really good at running, he can run away from death itself", lmao.

Sometimes magic's just gotta go "yeah fuck it, it's weird".

Glad I'm not the only one. Really feels like the author wrote himself into a corner and is clawing his way out. Things were fine up until the point mirio was killed. Then the whole plot and everything before it took a backseat to set up whatever the hell this is. I'm still wondering where all the other people that were there went. There's zero setup for any of this, it's a kitchen sink of cool ideas thrown at the wall falling flat with no payoff.
I kinda feel like it's less that they wrote themselves into a corner and more likely they just had all these cool ideas at the start of the series they wanted to introduce, but then realized that wasn't the way the story was going, so they're doing this just to get em all out there so they don't have to completely abandon them.

Usually when a writer writes themselves into a corner, it's from some long-winded thing that they can't untangle or something that happened a while back, but here the author killed off Mirio completely out of the blue and then immediately went off the rails. So unless they don't think even one chapter ahead, if this was a "wrote into a corner" situation they probly would've seen it early enough to course correct and not kill Mirio in the first place (or just like, have him rezzed via the power of love + Iver sacrificing her regenerations, without making up stuff about how it takes so many years to do).

They need to destroy the holy sword, cut all 5 limbs off the prince and destroy his soul to make sure he is never able to come back and reincarnate

I'm skimming quite a bit, but I generally got the understanding that he basically literally speedran his way back into living and broke the world record. Good for this RTA.

I can't remember the last time I saw a series go off the rails into total asspull nonsense this hard. Especially when it apparently wasn't facing cancellation.
I certainly remember. It was Daredemo Dakeru Kimi ga Suki and it's now spent far more time in the asspull phase than the hint of a potential good story that came before it.

Ah, there's also Reincarnated as a Sword, which had some nice plot and characters until it became The Evil Arc of Evil forever.

This would have been awesome but the setup feels incomplete somehow.
