Yeah, poor Yuzu in this. She'd been crushing on him, sticking up for him... yet, never got to taste the fruits of her labour for it. T'is a shame, but life can be bitter sometimes, bittersweet.
I know the feeling myself, having done similar for a girl. It's a strange feeling. Became best of friends with a girl, we got along really well. But, I confessed, she didn't feel the same way; but, we continued to be friends nevertheless. I just, somewhat got over it, I guess; but, what were romantic emotions I had, just turned into a mutual platonic love. She's gone off to have a husband now, moved away; but, we get in touch from time to time, catching up with what's going on in our lives. Still, truth be told, every woman I come across, they will always be compared to her, and her likeness. That's probably what Yuzu would do with every man she comes across.
