This is pretty good actually. Usually I avoid reversal stories like the plague since its almost always just some beta author projecting their own inferiority complex, but this was pretty funny and didn't seem one sided.
I'm anticipating the plot twist is that the curse is probably just some garden variety love spell and the "immense pain when he dies" will be just from grief.
