Black Clover - Ch. 392 - Final Page: Beyond Not Giving Up

Kinda hitting different knowing this is like one of the last major shonen jump manga from that generation to finish, seriously kinda closes that era of the 2010s. The Promised Neverland, dr stone, demon slayer, MHA even chainsawman and jjk were 2018~2019 manga, looking back even Haikyuu, assassination classroom and food wars where 2010s series, weird bitter sweet buff for black clover ending lol

Ngl, the past dozen or so chapters (ever since they switched to that 3+ month format) is borderline crap, with god awful pacing, with the author rushing the ending. Between the long gaps, as well as abysmal pacing, I can hardly remember what was even going on with a lot of these characters.

But as far as final chapters go, I do think this one handled it pretty good, though it would have been nice to find out more about what happened with other characters, but I guess that's the kind of thing we'll have to wait for bonus chapters, data books, or whatever.

With all the pairings we got in this chapter, I do wonder if the author is trying to lay the groundwork to potentially return to the series one day with a next gen spin off, like with the Boruto series. I know they switched formats cause of life issues, but perhaps one day when things are different they might continue the series.

This series main charm has always been its pure simplicity and it kept it until the end without ever trying to get edgy or mind twisting !

No complaints from me : Black Clover is now officially one of the best shounen ever in my book, from start to end.

bit rushed but good ending. was really enjoyable at the start, get kinda stale later part. what i like was simplicity but thoughtful, it never try hard to be complex or pretentious. it's to the point, fun, entertaining and surprisingly well written. however too many characters fatigue kinda make it lost it's charm. overall 8/10. going to miss it, looking forward to tabata next works!

Finally over. This shit show got as bad as Fairy Tail after the Dragon Festival.
Asta being the wizard king is stupid, Yuno would have been a far better choice.

Asta becoming the wizard king makes perfect sense thematically. The entire manga is about how this magicless kid can overcome his "disability" in a magic world and ultimately become just as respected as the other knights. Ending it with him losing to the guy "loved by magic" and not gaining the title would have been weird tonally. This is a cool, fun battle manga, you want the protagonist you've seen struggling throughout the story to win in the end, to reach his goal.

It makes sense for the story thematically and if this wasn't enough it makes sense logically because we've seen he's just that powerful and and his whole shtick is anti-magic, it shouldn't come as a shock that he could win in this scenario.

I remember picking it up over those 10+ years ago, after Kishimoto finished Naruto, but I dropped it at some point, for how unimaginable unreadable this became. It was probably within first year of it's releasing. Here I am now, 10 years later, knowing jack shit about the story, yet still understand what is going on around in those 3 last chapters. I don't know how to feel about this and what it tells about the story, but there you have it...
Good to see tho, that author of Black Clover is just as clueless about romance as Kishimoto. Possible smashing the conclusion to this half-baked threesome of Asta, Noel and Mimosa into volume extra chapter is such a 2010 move, it kinda makes me smile a little. "Ehhhhh, you goddamn shippers, here, have your main pairing resolved and leave me the fuck out of this..." kind of vibe.

someone on X wrote that there will be a bonus chapter in the final volume... dunno if MangaPlus will translate it or if we'll have to wait for a fan translation...

I think there was 1 exception, but the vast majority of the time, VIZ does not simultranslate volume-exclusive chapters and we have to wait for their volume release, which is always 1 year+ out.

Also, I looked into it. There is no source for there being an epilog like My Hero Academia. It's a mix of confusion with the 250-page guidebook that is coming, overextrapolation from the statement saying that Volume 38 will have “bonus pages” (the vast majority of volumes ever have bonus pages; means nothing), and pure desire. Of course, I share that desire! I don't want Asta (and Yuno's) romances to be left up to our interpretation! That's stupid! But spreading false information and hyping people up for something that may not be coming is also stupid. (I'm talking about the people saying this shit on X, not you.)

I too want an extra final chapter to know who Asta and Yuna will date and a lot of times the volumes have bonus chapters so... let's hope there will really be one.
As for the "there will be", like you wrote I think that there was some misinformation with the release of the guidebook that is coming
