God I cringe every time I read a new chapter for this. It's like...come on dude you lost me at having your teeth pulled by her when you were a child and that's the first instance of crazy in this story. You might not remember the pain of that moment but it happened, bro. You can't just..pretend crazy her isn't a thing and aim for the "sane" one. Considering we've got a bunch of crazies at this point, I don't know what to make of the story. I'd argue the weird dolls are the source of everyone's crazy but the teacher didn't appear to have one.

@sirflimflam There's a lot of series out there that retain the audience's viewership purely because of how shitty or stupid the MC is. Like people keep reading or watching to see if the protagonist will be able to do something that tops the level of stupidity of his last decision, or to see if maybe he'll do something smart for once. This is definitely one of those series, I'm still waiting for the MC to make a rational decision. It keeps the reader's attention solely because the protagonist pisses them off.

Keep in mind, that the MC is a middle schooler who may or may not be at a stage in life where he doesn't know how to think or feel about anything emotionally. But yeah, you'd think after getting your teeth pulled out, arson, and the whole two personality thing in the first place, even a middle schooler would be intelligent and mature enough to nope the fuck out

@Freestyle When you say "Edgy" do you mean like an Aincrad arc Kirito or Hajime Nagumo? I do agree that people hate on edgelord MCs way too much for not being weak and indecisive. Personally I prefer a protagonist that can get shit done and still maintain good character building and progression as the series goes on

Yeah those type of MCs i guess though I have no idea whats so edgy about changing your personality after experiencing traumatic events lol

Since I started watching/reading anime/manga mid 2000s it was right in the middle of the useless MC era, either actually useless MC that will have all the FMCs around him protect him or like those shounen MCs who always need a beatdown to get a powerup.

It was refreshing when MCs like Yuuji(Grisaia) and Tatsuya(Mahouka) started showing up. Kirito was one too I guess but I was never a fan of SAO, idk why. I did enjoy SAO progressive a lot though. reminds me need to read the newer volumes lol.
