swept under the rug to avoid friction between countries. I imagine there would be a formal thanks for saving the queen, as well as an apology for the insults but it won't be public.About those who insulted her, no consequences whatsoever on the spot? There should be some repercussions at the very least, maybe to their reputations in general. It should be made public that they made such insults towards the one who saved the queen/princess.

Yes. They did nothing to try to restrain him as well. All their focus went on her rather than half-half.They were just doing their jobs. It'd be more doubtful for bodyguards to just take the word of a stranger at face value.
They WERE in the process of asking her to show her proof of identity when the assassin act.
Also as seen in the chapter, once the shadows show up they prioritized protecting their charge, some being injured/possibly dead in the process.
Meanwhile Noel was so preoccupied with trying to catch the culprit she almost let the princess get harmed.
And YOU want them to face more consequences?
Yes. They did nothing to try to restrain him as well. All their focus went on her rather than half-half.
If I was their superior then I don't think it was beyond reason to permanently fire them. If their immediate reaction is to purely focus on the one who pushed the drink out of the way and called someone a poisoner, not even trying to at the very least try to restrict the potential poisoner, they are worse than trash.
She at the very least tried to take the threat down quickly before it could pull off more magic or attacks, since if she had just defended, she would have gradually gotten worn down. Sure, she did not make the best decision, but unlike the others, her decision wasn't incorrect, merely was not the ideal one.

yeah, see, we don't include the red shirts in the statistics...that would decrease moral."No guests ware harmed" Yup, no guests, just the guards the guests brought with them to the party, shown dead on the floor a few pages back, but yes, no guests ware harmed.
I mean they might be dead, so...About those who insulted her, no consequences whatsoever on the spot? There should be some repercussions at the very least, maybe to their reputations in general. It should be made public that they made such insults towards the one who saved the queen/princess.
She was preoccupied with the assassin due to him clearly targeting the princess/queen. Should she let her attention off of him, he would take the chance to kill the target. They were just doing their jobs. It'd be more doubtful for bodyguards to just take the word of a stranger at face value.

So, Noel here was trying to limit the assassin's movement instead. She was actually making the best decision possible. Unlike the morons who was suspecting her for no good reason at all. Besides, in the previous chapter, she already told them about the suspicion albeit instantly. It was an emergency.
Instead of just pointing swords at her and insulting her like that, they should inquiring both parties. This is why those morons need consequences.
Then it would be too late. The moment they pinned her and she stopped moving, the target would already be dead. It's clear, they're the incompetent ones here. Too subjective to be guards. They don't even have the skills to do decision-making like this and they're called guards? Pathetic.Ah yes, her focus was so necessary to prevent the assassin from reaching the VIP- oh fucking wait
If you want to punish incompetence, why not start there? She could've been closer to the guards or cooperate with them now that the assassin revealed himself.
It was an emergency, yes, and they WERE reaching the point of asking her for proof of her identity.
Y'know, because at that moment there's only her words and no proof she IS a court magician, or that the disguised butler was indeed assassin?
From the time she landed in last chapter to them demanding she prove her identity, there's probably less than a minute that passed.
Give them a few more moment for her to prove her identity and they'd probably cooperate with her.
The assassin knew he couldn't let the situation de-escalate that's why he dropped the act and went for the frontal assault.
But hey, apparently if you're a guard and a random assassin just barge in and say they're part of security, YOU'd believe them and let them walk up and kill your VIP won't you.

They didn't even coordinate with the court magicians for missions like these, what a bunch of idiots they are? Must be their pride or something getting in the way....
