I was gonna tirade about the bad start, but honestly, it's just a bad by design. She wasn't kicked out because of the incompetence of her superior, as is the cliche, no, he was just jelly... which feels even worse to me.

dumbass fired their best worker cause he was jealous she graduated
I know it has been 2 months, but IIRC it is a major misogynist and narcissist who thinks she lied about her credentials, because otherwise she would not be working in their remote village, and has never even let her try any job other then the one he complained is all she can do.

He fired her without even bothering to see what she was capable of, but he also has no management ability, and is all stick no carrot. Only got the guild because of his father. Basically all the corrupt traits the Japanese workers see black company management as.

So what happened to her mother? She gave up on a job to go home and take care of her mother, and then what? Did mother die?

Also the story isn’t really about revenge etc, it’s about Noel making a name for herself and Luke trying his best when it comes to her. These three years she worked in the sweat shop is extremely important for her, how she is as a character and her abilities.
Could you clarify what happened to FL's mom? I thought that was the whole reason why she restrained herself to the village, how could that issue just outright disappear?

I haven’t read the novel lately so can’t remember much, but there’s no problem and she moves to the city, she’s not really mentioned much except for when she’s trying to push her daughter to get together. So whatever the issue was it’s not important
