(it has been too long so maybe I'm misremembering some things) but didnt they say that he cant go against the boss, as in he cant do something that'll harm the boss

idk i might be forgetting things, but if it was true, then the boss must've known why setsuna was called and was ok with it

@gamma2015 I think so. It's possible he got around this due to how such thoughts might be considered. If the plan to unleash the ant army was orchestrated by another like it was, bringing in means to stop it could be seen as helping the boss as it is a tool to assist them if another takes their plan for themselves.

This is so frustrating. Alice seems to be the only one who has all the abilities of every species of arachnid and yet everyone else are specific species of insects like whats with this inconsistency?

@Wanderdoodle No? I don't know how you see it that way, but chiyuri has been given the abilities of several types of cockroaches, i'm too tired to go back and look them up, but also, setsuna has a dinoponera's abilities while also having the friendship capabilities of a megaponera.
My theory is that the unimportant characters that play side roles are the ones that are based off of singular bugs, while the main characters get multiple creature powers. Also, some characters might not have revealed their multiple bug spanning abilities yet, this manga has only 6 chapters, and the two (three?) MCs haven't met yet, so its still in its early phase.

Yes I agree with you. I just thought it was quite strange because Alice doesn’t have anything that sets her apart from other insects for her to be powerful enough to have the powers of multiple species if arachnids aside from her Congenital Excessive Concentration but Dinoponera also has that ability and yet the doesn't have the powers of the entire ant species? She’s also trained longer than Alice and the closes thing is when she harnessed the power of a relative species. I won’t comment on Chiyuri bc I don’t have enough info yet but this just seems to be another case of MC having some miraculous prodigy talent just because she’s the MC. But ig its my fault for trying to look for realism in sci-fi manga.

@Wanderdoodle Alice is not the only one, Scorpion also showed different scorpions' abilities just like Imomushi. I think it's more about the way they are trained, as some assassins were trained to kill as their respective bug species, while others got a more vague name so their repertoire is also wider. The reason for this is obviously that some of them are more relevant for the plot while others are not
