A lot of Manga have moments like this.

Ippo I think did it well. The old boxer who pissed off ippo to ensure he took him seriously.
This one does it poorly because any idiot looking knows that this isnt the person they care about and so should be able to cut it. The thing isnt even trying to be sneaky about it. He literally said this is a trick I do.
It never ends well for the one who does it.
