@Kzitold At least here in Latin America its almost unheard of to take your shoes off at the door, unless they are very muddy or such (and of course, never at an acquaintance's house).

At home (I'm in North America,) I get my shoes off as soon as possible. My feet would get really hot otherwise, and the stairs are conveniently by the front door for me to sit down.

Im pretty sure most if not all asian countries do this. Cant really imagine it being weird in european countries either
