... man that's a good pull for the enunciation warmups. big props (ha) to the translators for finding an appropriate and theater-y thing as a replacement for that text. haven't read the original, but i have to imagine some folks would have translated that bit literally, which sort of. masks the intent and context that it's in. i haven't thought about "to sit in solemn silence" in years.

I mean whatever choice you make you'll never be able to tell the full extend of it's consequences, as such you can't really chose your future, that's but a happy illusion allowed for a minority living a prosperous life.

That's not to say effort has no value, rather it has value on itself but it hardly means it will always yield a satisfactory reward, like how despite giving it her all Hina never managed to get Taiki to love her over Chinatsu.
