I like the idea of them anticipating and even taking advantage of Isagi's pattern-recognition skill, really building the next strategic layer of the series. Will Isagi be forced to play less analytically and more intuitively so he isn't countered, or will he be able to foresee another meta-level even deeper?

I think he should be fine as the team is still “moving for the sake of his goal”. He understands that by losing this pass, he is more likely to score. It sort of proves his character development as, despite his selfishness, he doesn’t self sabotage and actually thinks about how to score somewhat.

Yeah no that's valid. Just sort of the consequence of having a series focused on strikers.

It made sense that Isagi was able to recover quickly and track back to get the ball for once (thanks to the opposition's slow rhythm). It never made sense how he got back quicker than anyone else, even with meta-vision and it's predecessors, considering he doesn't have much pace in his legs.
